Number Plate Guide is free to use. To pay for it, some pages may include:

• Affiliate links. If you use one to buy a service, for example a vehicle history check or an online car-buying service, the company may pay us a commission. These links are labelled where they appear.
• Links to our sister sites, such as Value My Numberplate and UK MOT Checker, also run by HTML Studio. These aren’t paid placements.

What it never changes

• The plate dates, rules and checker results. They come from DVLA guidance, not from partners.
• Whether we link to the free official GOV.UK service. We always do where one exists.
